A KKDSZ tiltakozik minden olyan intézkedés ellen, ami a sztrájkhoz való jog csorbítát eredményezi a valódi, érdemi tárgyalások helyett.

to: FBU, FDA, GMB, PCS, RCM, RCN, UNISON and Unite

Dear Colleagues,

We send you solidarity greetings and our support in the face of the UK government’s plans for further attacks on the right to strike. We note that the UK already has some of the strictest strike laws in Europe and that the government seems to be more interested in making those rules even tougher rather than engaging with public service trade unions to negotiate reasonable improvements to pay and conditions that would end the current round of disputes.

Trade unions are in a very similar situation in Hungary. Most recently, the Hungarian government made it almost impossible for teachers to strike. And other sectors can count on a similar provision if they were to announce a strike. This situation makes us even more compassionate.

We would also like to express our support for your current industrial action to secure the pay increases that will help your members deal with the cost-of-living crisis. A successful outcome in the UK will inspire our members and public service trade unions across Europe as we negotiate, campaign and take action to defend workers’ pay and conditions.

We note that the TUC is planning a day of protest on 1 February and we send our messages for support for that and look forward to hearing how we can ensure that the voices of European trade unions are heard in condemning this attack on trade union rights by the UK government.

We stand by you and wish you success!

In solidarity:

KKDSZ (a trade union for culture, especially for museums, libraries, archives, and public cultural centers, Hungary)
